Video Reel:
Bridging:
Towards A Society Built on Belonging
In association with Column Five Media, my role was to help create the storyboard and animation that were in line with the script.

This animated explainer video gives a high-level snapshot of our analysis of bridging and breaking as possible responses in our current times. As Director john a. powell explains in the voiceover, "Of all the forces shaping politics and power around the world, perhaps none are more important than our sense of who we are, and who we are becoming." Having collective anxiety due to rapid change is a normal biological reaction, but how we respond to this anxiety is social. And our social responses are greatly shaped by the stories presented from those we look to as leaders and through the power of culture. We can respond to these changes either as a threat—breaking—or as an opportunity, bridging. Bridging call on us to reject a politics of 'us vs. them' and instead move towards a future where there is a new 'us'."

Background & Challenge:
For a long time, the process of purchasing small business insurance has been extremely complex. There are many options available and little guidance on what a business owner actually needs. Applying for and getting insurance online was completely unknown. This process simply did not exist without a broker to facilitate it. Our challenge was to help MetLife find a way to simplify the process and ultimately drive sales.
The Knock-On Effect:
This weekly program shows why finance matters to everyone, not just bankers or traders. In each episode, viewers will learn why one event that we've all heard about could lead to something entirely unexpected. The Knock-On Effect: Where we start with the thing you know and end up in a strange place.
Structural Racism Explained:
The “Structural Racism Explained” video (above) draws upon many varied sources in formulating specific definitions for different types of racism. The video and prompts provided in this video and teaching guide (download using the form on the right side of the page) are designed primarily for teachers to help students clarify and sharpen their understanding of the material, spur and support classroom discussion of the video and ideas, and provide ideas and leads for further research. But the materials are also useful for people who work in diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) spaces and local governments.
